Take Action
Our volunteer opportunities provide an easy avenue for families, teenagers, and individuals of all age and ability to take part in the Sister Schools program. By volunteering in Seattle, you are making a direct impact that is felt around the world. Because of you, children in both Uganda and the Puget Sound are equipped with education and compassion and will continue to multiply your gift of time and energy. We are honored to partner with you!
Serve at an Event
Sister Schools hosts many events throughout the year, such as our annual gala, donor appreciation events, and benefit concerts. In order to make these special occasions successful, we need individuals to help with night-of set up, festivities, and break down. These opportunities are especially great for responsible teenagers who need service hours. Tasks range from serving hors d’oeuvres or setting up displays, to selling raffle tickets or playing Vanna White!
Upcoming Opportunities:

Work in the Warehouse
Our highly-personalized program is very labor-intensive and we would not be able to maintain it without the dedicated volunteers in our warehouse! To ensure that items donated by local students are delivered to their Ugandan partners, each schools’ donations must be sorted, packed, and labeled separately. Additionally, shipping regulations require unique items to be packed in their respective boxes – colored pencils have to be separated from crayons and copy paper cannot be placed in the same box as lined paper. Volunteers are vital to the success of our program!

Assist on the Board or a Committee
A lot happens behind-the-scenes at Sister Schools, but these processes are critical to fund our program and keep our operation running smoothly. If you are interested in helping drive the strategic direction of Sister Schools, then consider joining the Board of Directors, the Finance Committee, or the Governance Committee.
