Travel
Volunteers joining Sister Schools on one of its annual distribution trips will find their African experience to be strikingly unique and distinctly personal.
Spring Distribution Trips
Summer Literacy Trips
Nicknamed the “Pearl of Africa”, Uganda offers both abundant natural beauty and rich, diverse cultures. Team members will be immersed in Ugandan society, visiting schools and interacting with teachers, parents and students. On weekends we’ll visit several local orphanages, where simple games and a big smile will energize the staff and thrill the children for months. Each day will end with new memories, new friends and a sense of satisfaction not easily found on a traditional tour bus.
There will also be time for a few breaks to enjoy the usual tourist activities. Visit the village market to bargain for traditional batiks or wood carvings. Head into the capital city of Kampala as it rebuilds and have lunch at a new mall. Take a local boat ride on the Nile at sunset to visit its source. And of course, what trip to Africa would be complete without a wildlife safari! Take the short flight into Kenya for a magical visit to the Masai Mara Game Reserve for some of the best game viewing opportunities in the world. Or stay in Uganda and trek into the Bwindi Impenetrable Game Park in search of the rare mountain gorilla. Anything’s possible!
Have a group of teachers that would like to spend part of their summer break interacting with students and teachers in Uganda? We can make that happen. Have parents and students that want to visit the children they’ve helped in Uganda? We can make that happen as well. Contact us now to discuss the possibilities.
