The first team has settled in to its new hotel in Mukono and will visit two schools tomorrow for preliminary video sessions and the opportunity to talk more deeply with parents, teachers and students. The traffic is so much more congested than last year that Asia suggested that we move our headquarters from Beatrice’s Guest House, where we’ve been for several years, to a location closer to Mukono Boarding School and many of the other schools we will visit.
On the drive in from the airport we noticed many new housing developments. Asia confirmed that the area is growing, causing more traffic, but also more opportunity. The countryside is still quite beautiful, as are the people. We’re really looking forward to seeing more children tomorrow.
