We hear the stories about life in Uganda. We think we understand. However, as we wake-up in the morning and check Waze for updates on traffic, grumble about the new HOT lanes on I-405, and sigh as (once again) we need to deal with yet a new “calming circle” that has been added next to that new 6 story apartment building that just went up, we forget about the child in Uganda. It’s okay. Our lives are crazy and busy (probably too busy) but for a moment we stop and we consider that someone else, on the other side of the world, is happy to take hours to get to school so they can hold a pencil in their hand. Maybe their happiness and willingness will make our day little less stressful and little more hopeful.
