Lew Dickert is currently principal of Little Cedars Elementary in Snohomish County, WA. Prior to that, Lew was principal at Fernwood Elementary for nine years. It was at Fernwood where Lew first encountered Sister Schools and quickly became one of our staunchest advocates. Lew emceed seven of the annual Fernwood Benefit Concert for Sister Schools as well as several Sister Schools’ Galas. Lew was the keynote speaker at the 2012 Gala and traveled to Uganda with Sister Schools in 2014 to dedicate the Lutengo Literacy Center, built in large part with funds from the Fernwood concerts.
In Uganda, Lew observed extraordinary teaching in challenging circumstances. After the excitement of the Literacy Center dedication, Lew wanted to make sure that the thrill of books and reading would continue. He joined the Program Committee upon his return, then joined the board.
Lew is a member of the 2014 Master’s Slow Pitch World Champions, Team Pound. Helives with his wife, Kristin, and boy-and-girl twins in Mill Creek, WA.
