Safari Pictures

When volunteers travel to Uganda with us for the first time, we always encourage them to take a few extra days at the end of the trip to make time for a truly unique experience, an African Safari.  Normally this takes the form of a short flight into neighboring Kenya for a visit to the Masai Mara Game Reserve; home to lion, cheetah, elephant, cape buffalo and more than 450 species of birds.  Occasionally we’ll stay in Uganda, as we did in 2012 to see the reclusive mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.  Regardless of its location, the wildlife is spectacular.
