Thank you to everyone who came to the Sister Schools Pancake Brunch last Saturday! We had a great time eating, celebrating, and catching up with old friends. We also got the opportunity to honor our Educator of the Year and Volunteers of the Year!
Doug Montzingo of Harbour Pointe Middle School has consistently gone above and beyond the call of duty. He started the leadership program at his school and has been instilling his students with a deep understanding of the world around them and a desire to change it. His students have run supply drives at HPMS – sometimes on their own, without the aid of Program Director, Terry McGill! – as well as fundraising for various projects in Uganda. Literacy Centers, Bathhouses, Copy Machines, and Security Walls have all been accomplished because of the hard work of Doug Montzingo and his students at Harbour Pointe.
Thank you for your years of service and congratulations on your retirement Doug!
Anne, Mike, Alex, and Claire Murawski have been involved in Sister Schools since 2008 when Blackwell Elementary School participated in our Fall Program – they haven’t left us alone since! Alex and Claire have experienced first-hand the life-changing impact of giving selflessly by participating in SS supply drives, volunteering in the warehouse, and organizing their own supply drives in the spring. As a family, they first traveled to Uganda in 2016 to help distribute the donated supplies; Anne returned on her own the next year and brought Claire with her this past April. The Murawskis are always up to whatever task we give them and the warehouse would not run as smoothly in the fall if they were not there.
Thank you for all you’ve done, Murawskis!
