For this week's Feature Friday, we want to introduce you to a very special person, one how has taken our Literacy Program to new heights.Ruth Nakkidugge is an English teacher and librarian at Mukono Boarding Primary School. Having already grown a culture of reading at her own school, she was the perfect choice to begin running workshops at our other Resource Center schools. When she visited Seattle in 2018, she not only took advantage of the opportunity to learn from other teachers, but also shared those lessons with her colleagues in Uganda through workshops she ran every term.According to Ruth, “teachers have now become resourceful to their neighboring schools and learning has become so interesting with the methods they have acquired in workshops." Save the Date!That's right! It's time to Save the Date for one of our favorite days of the year.Sister Schools' 18th Annual Auction will be taking place on Saturday, October 22nd, 2022 at the Museum of Flight!It's hard to believe that our auction had it's beginning way back in 2003, when we hosted a cocktail party of about sixty people. Several individuals stepped up at the event to take a larger role in Sister Schools - including planning a fundraising breakfast later that year, which later transitioned into the evening of compassion, service, and social responsibility that we all know and love.Be sure to mark your calendars!
